When I woke up today and looked out the window, there was an abundance of grey clouds. It only got worst when I found out there was no milk for my bowl of crunchy nut or cheese for my tomato and cheese toast. I was forced to eat stale donuts, stale donuts were stale. Starting a shit day ahead of me I proceeded read the daily news and play some background noise. I kinda got sick of Murs and The Maccabees in the morning so I looked through my download folders and I noticed 'Portishead'.

Hmmm, I don't really know much about Portishead, they're poms and that they've been in the scene since mid 90's and their new album, Third, is their 1st one in a decade. After reading the news, I finally noticed what was being played on iTunes, shit was immense. I wiki'd Portishead and learnt that they're primarily a trip hop band and were responsible for it's growth. Yeh I listen to Massive Attack but not enough for me to say that I know trip hop. After another listen through the album, I'm confident to say that trip hop should sound like this. Even though it was a cold and cloudy day, listening to this dark, emotional, modern, moody and raw album made me enjoy a cloudy and cold day. It also made me wanna go to England and enjoy it's shitty cold and cloudy weather, providing I'm listening to Portishead. Anyway, I'm getting carried away, even though this album made a shitty day somehow enjoyable, I'm still hungry.
