A couple of days ago, I was in a forum thread that was discussing hip hop with another person who was saying how rap is not even music and that all it talks about was guns, drugs, misogyny and gangsters.


All the cool guys wear rubber bands around their necks.


I accused him of categorizing Hip Hop into the commercial rubbish that is shown everyday in the media. He then tries to persuade me to listen to bands such as Tool, Perfect Circle, Audioslave, Modest Mouse, The Shins etc, all respectable bands which appeal to me and listen too. I then mentioned underground and alternative rap, the idiot said it was emo?. Surprised to what he said I ended the argument by sarcastically categorising rock music in general to emo and pop rock bands such as Good Charlotte, Fall Out Boy and Chemical Romance and said that the bands he listens to are exactly like them. The fag shut his mouth and left. Most people only pay attention to hip hop for the beats and completely ignore the the message. Here are something different and artists who embrace the hip hop genre and use it to leave a positive message with their lyrical creativity. If you like Soulja Boy, 50 Cent, Flo Rida or Lil Wayne, don't download whats below.
