Photobucket

Coming out next week is Q-Tip's third album The Renaissance. From what I've heard on the leaked songs this album is going be something special, appreances include J Dilla, Norah Jones, D'Angelo, Raphael Saadiq and Amanda Diva.

Life Is Better feat. Norah Jones

We Fight/Love feat. Raphael Saadiq

Kousnik - Out My Window

Debut album from Koushik Ghosh, a Dj on the Stone's Throw Label from Canada. An ambient and psych-pop album with mostly half baked songs, too subtle to categorised actually. A perfect substitution for a nap, you'll feel relaxed and a bit dazed after listening to the whole album.

Nothing's The Same

Coolin'

Bright And Shining

Of Montreal - Skeletal Lamping

Haha this album is fucking crazy. Compulsively unpredictable and messy yet brilliantly balanced.

Wicked Wisdom

For Our Elegant Castle

Plastis Wafers

The Foreign Exchange - Leave It All Behind

Following up Nicolay and Phonte's 'classic album you've never heard of' is their sophomore Leave It All Behind. Unlike their debut, Phonte sings a lot more which is surprisingly fresh. One of the chillest releases this year.

I Wanna Know

Daykepper feat. Muhsinah

Take Off The Blues feat. Darien

Uyama Hiroto - A Son Of The Sun

If you're a fan of Nujabes, you would of heard of Uyama Hiroto by now, he done a few songs in a couple of his albums. A strong debut from this overtalented Japanese and no doubt released one of the 'better albums you'll never hear about' this year.

Waltz For Life Will Born

81summer

Colour Of Jade

Bob Dylan - Tell Tale Signs, The Bootleg Series Vol.8

Considering that this compilation are full of songs that were unreleased and abandoned from earlier projects, it amazes me how timeless and classical they sound.

Mississippi - Unreleased Version 2, Time Out Of Mind 1

Dignity - Unreleased, Oh Mercy

Marchin'To The City - Unreleased, Time Out Of Mind

Nujabes - Modal Soul Classics

I doubt there will ever be a Nujabes release that I would'nt enjoy. One thing I don't get is that if this is a follow up to Modal Soul or not, none the less it's an excellent release.

Under The Hood ft. Specifics

Ai-No-Kawa ft. Sleepwalker

Folklore ft. Clammbon

Vem Para Ficar ft. Lava

Kanye West - Love Lockdown

With the recent release of his new single from his upcoming album, 808's & Heartbreak, the reception towards his drastic change is either you love it or hate it. IMO, the song is great but I'm having second thoughts about the video. There is some great visuals in it but I just don't get it? I like his house though.

Radiohead - Reckoner

When a contest for who could make the best remix of Reckoner came up, it was only fitting that they should have a contest for who could make the best music video. The winner of the contest, Clement Picon from France, came up with a video riddled with metaphors that complements the song.

Ratatat - Shempi

With the success of their previous single and video, Mirando, they decided to use it's same formula by recycling an old ABBA video. Odd video yet perfectly normal for Ratatat's Shempi.

Janelle Monáe - Many Moons

From her recently released album, Metropolis - The Chase, the first single Many Moons arrives with a brilliant video. Vibes from Prince to Andre 3000 are all over this video, no doubt the coolest video I've seen this year.

Before The Music Dies

Photobucket

If you're a fan of music this documentary is a MUST, the whole thing speaks nothing but truth. Trailer

Last 5 albums

Photobucket

TV On The Radio - Dear Science
A smart and brilliant album, it's a giant mixing pot of all the good things about music at the moment. Easily one of the best releases this year.

TV On The Radio - Dancing Choose

TV On The Radio - Golden Age

TV On The Radio - Love Dog

Photobucket

Murs - Murs For President
Unlike his previous albums with 9th Wonder, his new release on a major label more diverse, not essentially a good thing. But this an decent album that attempts to get into the mainstream and change perspectives about rap.

Murs - Can It Be

Murs - Love and Appreciate

Photobucket

Cold War Kids - Loyalty to Loyalty
Continuing the intensity from their debut, the sound in Loyalty to Loyalty is more so deepened rather than expanded. A raw and blue-esque album which signals growth in the Kids.

Cold War Kids - Every Valley Is Not A Lake

Cold War Kids - Golden Gate Jumpers

Photobucket

Stereolab - Chemical Chords
Stereolab sacrifices some of their distinct sound for a charming and crisp pop album

Stereolab - Neon Beanbag

Stereolab - Self Portrait With Electric Brain

Stereolab - Cellulose Sunshine

Photobucket

Raphael Saadiq - The Way I See It
Bringing back R&B to it's golden days in the 80's, Saadiq reminds us what R&B is suppose to be and delivers one of the best albums in it's genre this year.

Raphael Saadiq - 100 Yard Dash

Raphael Saadiq - Just One Kiss feat. Joss Stone

Justice - Cross-Country Race To The Universe

I think it's safe to say that Justice is synonymous with the word epic. Here is an upcoming documentary on them and their tours, directed Romain Gavras. Drops by November 24.
